National Capitol Cat Show 2017

Ok it isn't CatCon but Jellicle was excited to check it out. It was fun to look at the lovely breeds, watch the Agility Competition, gaze longingly at the many kitties available for adoption and look at all the amazing products being sold by Vendors. There were cat trees, cat toys, cat beds, cat gear, cat food, cat books and cat art and yes a few things were bought.

Jellicle spent a lot of time @theMeowMatch (find her on Facebook) checking out all the cat beds before finally deciding on this super plush furry overstuffed one. Good choice - Charlotte immediately claimed it but sometimes lets Jack or Sally nap in it.

Gone Astray is told from the cat's point of view and is about a kitten who runs away from an Animal Shelter and tries to survive on her own. Silent Meow is about a man and a cat who save each other.

Next Jellicle bought two lovely prints from Angel Cat Art

Last purchase a bunch of extra collars so we can show off all the lovely bow ties and bandanas we have been given or purchased from furriends.

One of the highlights was seeing the Cornish Rex Fashionista Cats wearing their gorgeous period gowns. This kitty was really good with her costume although once she did try to kick her little hat off.

Lil Bub Prize Pack from Cat-Chella

During the month of June we pawticipated in the Cat-Chella 2017 Raffle & Party, a two-week online gathering of cats hosted by Instragram @antonioandfrankie to raise money for @theminniekitty and PurrfectPals.org. Pam and The Herd are fighting to keep their home after illness and PurrfectPals works to make sure every Puget Sound, WA cat has a home.

There were so many fun events and we won $25 and $50 gift cards for #tongueouttuesday and the talent contest. We met mermaids, flew parrots, cruised on pirate ships, romped in meadows, went to a sweetheart ball, did a drawer crawl and rode a zip line, raced sail boats and cars, told stories around the campfire, went to a feather party and entered the sandcastle competition, and went on a submarine tour and so much more.

Most importantly we bought raffle tickets. They sold 308 tickets for $1540 which was far short of the target however an anonymous donor has stepped up to fill in the gap. So between the Raffle sales and the YouCaring account, along with the anonymous donor, @theminniekitty gets to keep her house.

We were lucky enough to be selected as one of the raffle winners and received a Lil Bub prize pack containing a life size Lil Bub stuffed animal, a t-shirt, 3 magnets, & Lil Bub's Lil Book. Lil Bub is a miracle kitty who was born with multiple genetic anomalies including extreme dwarfism, not teeth and a jaw malformation that causes her tongue to protrude. While the vet warned she probably wouldn't make it, she is now two years old and doing fine. She is also an Internet sensation; you can find her on Youtube, Facebook, and other social media. She uses her fame to help raise money for animal charities and to spread awareness about spay, neuter, adopt, and rescue and how to be compassionate to those who are 'different'.
