Jingle Cat

Jellicle thought Naja and Prishe might enjoy helping her wrap presents.
Boy, was she ever wrong!

Naja was terrified of the mess that invaded the normally neat living room.

She inspects the ribbons and bows and then hides under the sofa.

Prishe also has her doubts about the whole thing,

Until the Jingle bag catches her attention!

She isn't quite sure if the sound is coming from outside the bag...

Or the inside!

Prishe:  I dun think you looked all the way, Naja!

Prishe:  Nope, I check everywhere, no mice!

The Green Chair

At first Jellicle worried that Naja and Prishe would scratch up her living room furniture.

Silly Jellicle!
Kittehs and Victorian furniture go together like peanut butter and jelly!

Baby Naja is  the first to stake her claim lady's chair*.

But Prishe wins the prize for making it look the most comfortable.

And yes, the pillows had to go.
Apparently Kittehs respect the craftsmanship of the furniture far more than the accessories.

*Correction--In the original  post I said it was the gentleman's chair but as I dusted the living room today I realized it was the lady's chair (low arms) they prefer.

The Wizard's Cat

Long before the days of Harry Potter, a little girl had a magic cape.  Made of luxurious blue-black velvet and studded with gold velvet stars, it had the power to transform the wearer into fairy tale beings: a gypsy and fortune teller, a queen and maker of poison apples, a sleeping princess, and a wizard mouse to name just a few.

Eventually the little girl grew up and the magic cape went to live with some other little girls.  It was played with until the edges frayed and washed until the black velvet faded to midnight blue although the stars glimmered as brightly as ever.  Finally those little girls grew up too.

But still the cape had some magic left in the seams and it flew back to the grown up girl who first owned it.  As soon as it came into her house, it was immediately claimed by a furry little girl.

I think dis is my color!

Go away Naja, dis is mine!

Be afraid, be very afraid!

Cat-robatics

For their birthday, Prishe and Naja got a new tree house.

It features two perches, scratcher posts of carpet, sisal and wood
 and.....

a toy surprise on the inside.

Dis is fun!

Mommy, watch me climb!

Oh boy, sumfing decent to scratch at last!

Naja, Imma show you how to catch and kill dis toy.

Don't tear it up!

1 minute 30 seconds later

Ooops!  Too late!

Dare me to climb dis tree?

Still dun think I can, do you?

Muhahaha!

 Thanks mommy!

Don't worry we still like our old tree too!

Birthday Girls

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAJA AND PRISHE

Do you think they cared that the 'cake' was just the same old catfood they get every day?

Not a chance!

Ever the lady, Naja chews her food before swallowing...

But Miss Greedalox has already inhaled hers.....

and then licks the carpet in case there are crumbs.

Water Baby

Prishe has recently developed a fixation with playing in the water bowl.  She dips her paw in the water and tries to catch the ripples.  She shakes her paw out, slinging water everywhere, and then tries to catch the beads of water on on the floor.  She has managed to turn over or empty all of the water from the bowls as she plays this fascinating game.
On Saturday, Jellicle was hand washing some delicate fabrics in a tub on the kitchen counter.  Leaving the clothes to soak a bit, she left the room.   A few minutes later, loud thumps and bangs drew her back to the kitchen.  There sat Prishe, in a pool of sudsy water that she had sloshed out of the tub, trying to get the taste of TIDE off of her tongue.
Prishe left the laundry alone after that but that gave Jellicle an idea!  To distract Prishe from her obsession with the water bowl, Jellicle placed a shallow tub of water on the kitchen floor so the Water Baby could play to her heart's content.
Naja: Look at dis big bowl of water!
Prishe:  Watch dis Naj, put your right paw in.
Prishe:  Put your left paw out!
Prishe:  Turn yourself around and shake it all about!
Naja:  But I dun wanna get my paws wet! Water is for drinking!
Prishe: Look dis funny fish swimming in the water!
Prishe pulls the toys out of the water and carries them off to the kitty room.

It is a good thing Jellicle doesn't have an aquarium!
